On Your Mark Student Learners
Preparing students for a successful future.

Students ranging from senior kindergarten to university level attend On Your Mark Learning Centre, to improve their grades, maintain their grades or reach ahead to more challenging levels. They attend to learn study and organizational skills and build their self esteem through positive experiences and interactions with qualified educators.

Individual programs are developed for each student, including all areas of language and math at the elementary level and all areas of language, math and sciences at the secondary level. All programs are available for French Immersion students, English students, or Francophone students. A number of different schedules are available based on the program selected and the length of the program. Classes are generally available Monday through Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00, and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Students are tutored in a safe and secure environment, with no more than three students in a group. The centre has been designed to be conducive to learning and has a rich supply of resources available to the students. The centre is conveniently located in a local shopping centre with easy access and free parking. The centre is handicapped accessible.

Our teaching staff are qualified teachers or university educated in a specific field, such as engineering. Teachers are trained and supervised by our Education Director who is a retired principal from the public school board. Our curriculum has been developed according to ministry guidelines by educators experienced in both the Ontario and Quebec curriculums. We build positive self esteem in our students. On Your Mark Adult Learners
Preparing adults for a successful future.

Adults attend On Your Mark Learning Centre to upgrade their qualifications, to prepare for a career change, to prepare for a return to work, to prepare for tests such as: G.E.D., literacy tests, citizenship tests, to study ESL/FSL, or to prepare for entrance to college.

Programs are developed individually for each client and are available in either English or French. Programs can be language based, or can include a wide range of supporting programs such as basic computer skills, keyboarding, research skills, study and organizational skills, job specific vocabulary and skills and much more.

Although adult learners generally attend the centre during day time hours between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., schedules vary according to the needs of our adult clients. Optional evening and Saturday morning hours can be arranged.

Adults work with staff who are either qualified teachers or university educated in related fields. Our teaching staff are trained and supervised by our Education Director, Phyllis Lamrock-Ifill, B.A., M.Ed. whose Master's program included principles of Adult Education. Our teachers are therefore aware of possible barriers to adult learning and strive to accommodate individual needs and provide positive experiences.

Our services are provided in a store front facility in a local shopping centre, where there is ample free parking. We are close to bus routes and are handicapped accessible. Our adult students enjoy our warm and encouraging environment and our professional and welcoming staff. Our services are confidential.

How you present yourself in the job market, or in the social sphere is a key component towards your individual success. On Your Mark Images will help you develop your image through some of the following options:

Wardrobe consultation: This consultation will provide you with specific suggestions for styles and wardrobe pieces to suit your body type, personality, gender and lifestyle. Personal grooming advice can also be offered for both men and women. Advice on hair, make-up and accessories is also available.

Colour analysis: This consultation will develop a colour palette best suited to you to ensure selecting the most complimentary purchases. You will be provided with your personal wallet sized colour palette.

Closet audits: The "On Your Mark Images" Consultant will meet with you in your home to help you organize, group and co-ordinate your wardrobe, in addition to separating items for repairing, donating, consignment or discarding.

Personal Shopping: Our Image consultant will join you as you shop to advise and/or help you select the most flattering outfits...or if you prefer our consultant can shop ahead, making selections for you to consider.

Interview Strategies and résumé preparation: Oral and written communication are important aspects of image when you are changing careers, preparing for advancement, or looking for employment. On Your Mark will develop a program for you, teaching the skills you need to succeed. Our services are confidential.
